We made the video below for you to have a glimpse on how such a trip is like. Have a look. It’s pretty funny.…

#16 Medical assistance in Serbia

On the 14th of August, 2019, I decided to write about what happened last week, when Betina and I got sore throat. We believe it happened because we were a bit careless with our life-style: cold drinks contrasting the hot weather, too cold air conditioning and hitting us directly at the hostel, wind, river bathing, many walks under a really hot sun, etc. Our bodies asked for a break. Bê fell ill first and, the…

#11 [video] A pilgrimage experience

Hello beloved ones! Today we will share with you our first experience as pilgrims. We had never done that before, and we thought: “- Why not trying, right?” Then, on September, 2nd, 2018, we departed around 9:55PM, heading to São Bentinho da Porta Aberta. Check…

# 7 Thrown out of the train in Portugal

After our first experience with Workaway at Quinta da Pena (“quinta” is the Portuguese for “site” or “farm”) and having spent a month at Quinta do Muro helping our Portuguese Family, it was time to leave for our second experience, this time in a small town called Benafim , in the middle of the Algarve region. We had scheduled with our next host we would stay the entire October/2018 there, helping him with his daily chores (basically…

#6 Immigration in Portugal

After 9 hours and a half of a turbulent flight, with the right to fainting episodes and medical requests on board, the last step before we could say that we were officially on Portuguese grounds was still missing: go through immigration. Even so, Bê was already thrilled to see, during the landing, places she had not seen for eight years when she did an interchange in Portugal through Univates, a Brazilian University. The huge queue…
